Sepulcher Axe

The Sepulcher Axe was a battleaxe used by Ivarr the Boneless in England during the 9th century. Lost during an attack against Thegn Leofrith, it was later given by him to King Burgred of Mercia as a gift.

During her travels, the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan acquired this dane axe at Offchurch's crypt, Ledecestrescire.[1]

Description
A heavy axe, said to have been thrown across the River Trent by Ivarr the Boneless in an effort to cleave Thegn Leofrith in two. Subsequently given by Leofrith to King Burgred as a token of fealty.

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

The Sepulcher Axe, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, shares a similar model with the Arkalochori Axe and Golden Axe, weapons in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey that recycle the model of the Sahalin Axe in Assassin's Creed: Origins, which itself was modelled after the Sahalin weapon in For Honor, a game developed by Ubisoft Montreal.
