Sergei was a scientist in the Russian Brotherhood of Assassins and a trusted ally of Nikolaï Orelov. He was the Order's director of research at the Protvino laboratory, a facility of the Russian Academy of Science, which Lenin had accepted to lend to the Assassins in late 1917. Sergei was well aware of the power of ancient artifacts, and was eager to get any relic the Assassins could put their hands on, hoping to study them and learn their secrets.
