Sunita Ortiz was the wife of Abstergo scientist Cayetano Ortiz and the mother of Rodrigo Ortiz and Javier Ortiz.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Around 2081, Sunita and her sons Rodrigo and Javier were kept secured by Abstergo Industries security while Cayetano left to work for the next seven months with fellow scientist Junko Maeda on a secret project at a blacksite.[1] Due to the lab's severe isolation and the covert nature of his work, Cayetano tried easing his distress by writing Sunita[2] unsent letters that he burned to protect her from even vaguely knowing corporate secrets, though a camera secretly placed in his room scanned his missives and revealed their contents through optical character recognition to Abstergo.[3] As such, Sunita and her kids remained the company's hostages.[4]

However, the Assassins laid out a plan to rescue Sunita and her sons from Abstergo while another team left to secure Cayetano and Junko. The Assassins Bas de Jong and Poul Agard[4] found and executed their rescue while dispatching the Abstergo guards outside where the Ortizes were held.[5] Then, Bas and Poul aided the family to reunite with Cayetano, who was also successfully rescued by Tatyana Dane and Joel Eastman, with the unexpected help of his creation and the artificial intelligence, Ego.[6]
