Qamra was a healer working at the farm of Vineyard Canyon on the Greek island of Lesbos in the 5th century BCE.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Employed by the head of the farm, Qamra was the main tender of his workers. During the Peloponnesian War, an illness spread among the people of the farm, and the farmer lamented the loss of profits. Fortunately for him, Qamra was able to deduce the cause of the illness. Unfortunately, she lacked both her tools as well as her drugs.[1]
While conversing with the farmer, Qamra saw the Spartan misthios Kassandra, and requested her help, telling her that her tools were likely at the clinic within the Vrisa Fort on the southern shore of the island, while her medicine was at the Leader House in Mytilene.[1]
As Kassandra left to fetch the items, Qamra busied herself by helping the workers in whatever way she could. Soon after, Kassandra returned, the tools and the medicine with her, enabling Qamra to heal the people.[1]
