9th century Dunseverick

Dunseverick was a fortress situated in the northernmost coast of what is now County Antrim, Northern Ireland.[1]

History[edit | edit source]

In the medieval period, Dunseverick was part of the Kingdom of Ulster. In 881, the Viking jarlskona Eivor Varinsdottir followed a series of clues about "The Seed" and figured out his identity to be Lord Bécc mac Nath-í and his location to be Dunseverick.[2][3] Traveling to Dunseverick, Eivor found the Child of Danu and assassinated him. From The Seed's personal effects, Eivor claimed a clue, which revealed the Ollamh Druid's identity to be Abbot Eogan mac Cartaigh. Learning the truth, Eivor left the fortress to inform High King Flann Sinna about her discovery.[2]

From her time at Dunseverick, Eivor found a chest and claimed a tungsten ingot. Eivor also found a Book of Knowledge underneath the fortress' grounds and learned the ability, "Vikingr Salute."[4]
