Chalkippe was the sister of the Elean Kallistros, living in the 5th century BCE Greece.
Whereas Kallistros favored his own farm in the Forest of Pholos, Chalkippe frequented the Linou Farm. Once while there, she met the Spartan misthios Kassandra, and asked her to see about her brother, Kallistros, as Chalkippe had been frightened by the noises coming from his farm.[1]
To ease Chalkippe's mind, Kassandra agreed to do so. In return for the good news Kassandra brought, Chalkippe swore to be her devout servant.[1]
After the girl Myrto fell sick while preparing for the feast dedicated to the Eagle Bearer, Heriphile was shocked, and pleaded with Kassandra to spare the rest of them from her wrath.[2]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Chalkippe, a character in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, shares her name with a number of women in Greek mythology, but specifically with the daughter of Phalerus, whose name was also spelled as ‘Chalcippe'.[3]
