The Carefully Crafted Helmet was a helmet made in Phrygian fashion. Special attention had been paid to the details of the helmet, and it was doubtful it ever saw battle.
During the Peloponnesian War, the helmet was in possession of Aiantides. After he was rescued from Persian and Spartan soldiers by the Spartan misthios Kassandra in Potidaia, Aiantides left the helmet for Kassandra to find as a thank you.[1]
