The Call of the Wild was a tantō that Fujibayashi Naoe obtained in 1585. That year, after defeating Templar Kimura Yukari, Naoe and fellow Kakushiba ikki member Yasuke were tasked with eliminating the remnants of her organization, the Sanzoku Ippa, that still terrorrized the island of Awaji. At the Trail of the Naruto, they assassinated one of Nowaki's ambushers, Ando Masamune, and retrieved the short blade from his personal effects.
