I'd been meaning to create this topic for a while now, basically stuff petraining to the series that you'd like to share with the AC community.
An Imperfect God - a biography of George Washington focusing on his relationship with his slaves. Superb descriptive writing and investigative reporting, with deep insight into Washington's human contradictions.
The Artist, the Philosopher, and the Warrior - book I read a while back on Leonardo, Niccolo and Cesare, a decent introduction that spends a lot of time examining why the pacifistic Leonardo would work with someone as frightening as Cesare. Ubisoft appears to be fond of the author Paul Strathern, as he's also written books on the Medicis, Venice, Napoleon in Egypt, and even Watson and Crick.
Black Sails - loving this TV series that blends together Treasure Island and the real pirates of Nassau. If you haven't watched it do catch up before Blackbeard (Ray Stevenson) debuts next year.
John Adams - only watched the first couple of episodes I'm afraid (stupid Amazon) but Paul Giamatti's performance as the second US President was incredible, well worth watching for the defense of the soldiers involved in the Boston Massacre alone (oh, and Stannis Baratheon is Thomas Jefferson).
Petrograd - a graphic novel depicting British involvement in Rasputin's assassination. The comic's interesting because orange is the only colour used throughout the whole thing.
Up in the Air - I blogged a review here of this poignant George Clooney flick highlighting what Jeffrey Yohalem stole for the script of Brotherhood, so if you haven't please watch it.
PS. If you're not a Kate Beaton fan, you should be.<ac_metadata title="AC-related recommendations"> </ac_metadata>
