Assassin's Creed: Embers is an animated short film project designed to expand the Assassin's Creed series. It was revealed by Ubisoft on 6 June 2011, and was released on 15 November 2011, alongside the Assassin's Creed: Revelations Animus, Collector, and Signature Editions. The short film is available in 15 languages, some dubbed others subtitled. Ezio Auditore da Firenze, now officially a senior citizen in Florence, ponders the fate of both himself and his family as his age is now working against him.

This short film was created and produced by Ubiworkshop, and was completely developed internally at Ubisoft Montreal. To create the film, Ubiworkshop worked with two other teams: Ubik, and a team from the Technology Group.[1]

Plot

In the year 1524, the former Assassin Ezio Auditore retired on a villa at the countryside of Florence, with his wife Sofia Sartor and children Marcello and Flavia. While Ezio was writing in his study, Sofia asks him to watch Flavia while she and Marcello visit Claudia. After Sofia leaves, Ezio leaves his study to tend the crops as Flavia played nearby the villa. In the midst of his harvest, Ezio sees a stranger cloaked in black, talking to Flavia. Fearing the worst, Ezio hurriedly intercepted the stranger, though Flavia tells him that she was no danger, as Ezio sees her necklace with the Assassin insignia.

After dark, the Assassin introduced herself as Shao Jun, who sought out Ezio in hopes of learning how to save her people and order.
