I tried asking, but no one could help me. How do I turn this into a official template (into something like this one)?
Never mind I did it, Thanks to Silver's help :D I'll be implementing them all to the Major Events once I get a good night's rest. Here it is by the way. --WarClownWanna Talk? 17:15, August 6, 2010 (UTC)
War, about your "promotion"... I've been checking what I could do to you, and what I expected is true: wiki powers can only be grant via groups i.e. you must be a admin to have delete powers, you must be a 'craut to make other people admin, you must be me to be awesome, etc. So I tought "Ah, what the hell. Why not?" and I'm gonna make you a.... probatory admin, we may say. I'll create a rank midway between Istruttori and admin, and when the wiki grows a little more and we need a new admin, I'll up you to full fledged Sysop status and other person takes your shoes as probatory sysop. =D
What ya think? -- D. Cello 17:37, August 6, 2010 (UTC)
So, I can have the abilities of an admin without being a full-fledged admin? That'd be great! --WarClownWanna Talk? 01:58, August 7, 2010 (UTC)
  • You gave me a premature congratulations, so here's yours.. CONGRATULATIONS! :D Thief 02:36, August 7, 2010 (UTC)
  • Thanks :D So I'm guessing you'll want a cookie too. Well, instead of an edible circle, how about a magic trick? XD --WarClownWanna Talk? 02:51, August 7, 2010 (UTC)

Groups

As well as the above curiosity, I have another question. I was wondering if the Admins would like to implement a group system. Again, this is like what Halopedia had, but once again, shut it down. I already know about the Istruttori, which monitors Featured Articles and the like, but if we included some other groups, like for instance the Assassins and Templars. Assassins gain rank via fixing, creating, and expanding the Assassin pages, and the same for the Templars (except Templar pages). When Halopedia had this sort of thing going it brought many of the Users who like the same type of pages together, creating new friendships. Of course each group would need a "group admin" (for the Assassins maybe a "Master Assassin" and the Templars a "Grandmaster".). As well as each group having ranks that have something to do with the group (Assassins having "Initiate" for those that had just joined, or have not done much.), in which the User sends a request to a Group Admin asking for a promotion with a link to their contributions, and if said GA (Group Admin) agrees then the User is allowed to move their name to a rank above their previous one.

Also, each group should have an enforcer like User (Possibly "Judge" for the Templars), that goes through the lower ranked Users in their respective group and make sure they're following each groups' policies, and this special rank can only be given by the GAs, and only given to like one or two, max of three Users that have proven themselves worthy. Each enforcer, should they find enough evidence, bring this attention to both the GA(s) and the wiki Admins so that the suspected User gets reprimanded properly (Such as banning from the group, and or, banned from the wiki for a set amount of time).

Thank you very much for taking the time to look at these ideas of mine. The very menacing machine.

I think this whole enforcer thing and ban people from group is unecessary, and temp block from wiki is totaly not happening. People don't have any obligation here, nobody edits cause they have to, we do it cause we WANT to. Getting banned by not following an specific criteria by another user is unfair and subjective. About the groups, though, it is something that indeed we could do, we just need to figura a way of effectively implementing it.
Why those ideas were shutdown in Halopedia? -- D. Cello 18:39, July 10, 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, you make an interesting point, and to answer your question, they were shutdown because of the lack of activity as there was a lull in the new content. However, with a new game coming out, namely Reach, a lot of new content has been coming up, and several users, including Admins, are holding a vote to bring the groups back. This was just a suggestion, ultimately the power is up to the Admins, I just thought I'd ask since many users at Halopedia had a good time using the groups, just trying to spice things up a little. Thank you for your time. -- Mechanical-Menace 04:56, July 11, 2010 (UTC)

Personally I think it might be too hard to monitor all the users in these groups to see if they're following the group rules and personally I think almost every user is going to be in The Assassins group, also this is a Wiki about straightforward information. If you want to discuss things or roleplay the game in such a way you should head over to fan club forum or our very own community forum and post a topic about what you want to express.
Also, a lot of users registered here edit Assassin pages just as well as Templar pages, we're here to all help each other out with mistakes and grammar. We can't just leave a page with horrible grammar unfixed because it is information on the Templars.

You make a very interesting point, thank you for the feedback. -- Mechanical-Menace 04:56, July 11, 2010 (UTC)
