The Ones Who Came Before theories page

The glyphs in ACII dropped a fantastic assortment of information on us reguarding the ones who came before, the human race, the templars, and the assassin order, however a fair deal of this info falls between definitive enough to put into existing page, but deffinately more than just simple fan made theories. I have addes some info to the One's Who Came Before page several times only to have it taken away, so I would be interested in giving each aspect of them their own page (happy to do it my self, and provide all the evidence found in the glyph puzzles and elsewhere in the game) because I'm sure we can all tell that some of these theories are implied for a reason and will probebly be explored more in the third instalment (can't wait!)

I am particularly interested in creating a page explaining the implications of Human - Ones Who Came Before hybrids, as that scenario is rather heavily implied, and would explain a LOT that will no doubt play a major roll in the plot of ACIII. And I wish to stress that this isn't just me going on about my nerdy theories, I would only use information that is presented within the game's material, and provide descriptions of said material as evidence to support such implications as "Altair, Ezio, Desmond, etc are descendants of a hybrid blood line and that's why they can resist the pieces, because the extra neuro-transmitters are either not present or not fully fnctional as a result of the interbreeding" and all that noise.

And I am a man of my word, If I am given the green light, I would be happy to take responsability for such pages.

The Theif

Background?

I was thinking, we should have a background similiar to the Mafia wikia's one but take out the mobsters and put the Assassins (The apprentices). It's just an idea, since I could make them transparent so It wouldn't be a huge clunky background, but instead fit in the wiki (Or I could easily place them on a backgrund of your choice).

Take a look at the Mafia wiki and you'll see what I mean. Mafia Wiki

If you agree just give me a suitable background size/canvas and i'll get to work on it.

[[User:The Theif|

Ref Pic. Will be able to stretch if needed.

The Thief]] 23:34, July 6, 2010 (UTC)

It ma be worth a try, things is: we don't have just a background, but a whole skin. Changing the background would imply further modifications, and I'll have to think them through. I'll get back to you on that ;D
If you have more ideas, feel free to post them. -- D. Cello 01:28, July 7, 2010 (UTC)
I could try to blend the image in with this one, but I would need two things. First is the default background and the other is a good quality picture of the Assassins. -- Altaïr 00:21, 29 July, 2010 (UTC)

Staff... thing... whatever.

Hey Cello, what ever happened to that Hierarchy page you were talking about? :D Thief 01:08, August 7, 2010 (UTC)

War Clown

Userboxes

Added, War: Check here. You think you could change Altair Chronicles and Bloodlines' ones to different shades of blue and the Discovery one for other red? (base the color on the games cover's colors) You can change it directly on the respectives templates pages, no need to warn me. Just let me know when you do it ;D -- D. Cello 17:29, July 23, 2010 (UTC)

How do I go to the respective template's pages?

Never mind, I figured it out. Check it out, tell me what you think. Here's the Chronicles, here's the Bloodlines one, and here's the Discovery one. The Altair Chronicles and Bloodlines' blue is different from each other. Are they supposed to be the same shade, or what? WarClownWanna Talk? 15:45, July 24, 2010 (UTC)

Bullseye, War. =] Thanks, well done ;D -- D. Cello 21:08, July 24, 2010 (UTC)

A Sandbox for Unconfirmed Brotherhood Multi-Player Characters

As the very long heading says, there are users, both registered and unregistered, who make article after article regarding characters they see from the various screenshots Ubisoft released so far. Notable examples are the Caramel Hunter, and the Female Harlequin. In order to prevent any more conflicts with the categories and speculations, I propose this idea where users come post the characters they see from the screenshots, marking them with a small panel. The users should mark the character that has yet to be confirmed by Ubisoft, or another user (from the post they made)

Of course, the articles that contain these speculated characters should have all its pics and info transferred to said sandbox. It's an orderly way for users to tell us that they spotted this character yet to be confirmed by Ubisoft, without making another article

So what do you think? WarClownWanna Talk? 11:56, July 27, 2010 (UTC)

it is a nice idea, but you really think people will respect that? -- D. Cello 19:14, July 27, 2010 (UTC)
They better, or else they'll get what's coming to them XD In all seriousness, its a better way for users to tell us what they see on these screenshots. You gotta admit, its better to present just an image than a whole article with nothing but a bunch of pics and speculations, eh? If they won't do it, then I will. WarClownWanna Talk? 12:39, July 28, 2010 (UTC)
As one of those users who was making the articles, I would help. I didn't make the Female Harlequin, because thaty was already here when I started editing the wiki, but I made Caramel Hunter for two reasons: 1, s/he shows up ni a lot of the pictures; and 2, s/he shows up in the official poster for the Harlequin, along with several other confirmed playable characters, sorting of sealing the fact that s/he'll be a playable character.
I've actually noticed quite a few characters. Two of them that I had noticed were the Soldier and the Blacksmith, but those already have pages. But I also noticed the Female Barber and the Saracan (which are both just temp name until Ubisoft officially announces them and their names), who were in teh same picture with the Caramel Hunter, so it sort of make them playable too. But, anyways, I would help with this. It is a good way to get everything out in the open. A.J. two 12:49, July 28, 2010 (UTC)
Ah, one who shares my interest. Thanks, AJ :D WarClownWanna Talk? 12:58, July 28, 2010 (UTC)
I shared the interest even before you came up with this idea. All of those pages got deleted because they didn't have proof, but there's plenty of proof that htye exist, and there is also plenty of proof that they will be playable. But, since they aren't allowed to have pages until that happens, then we need a page that shows all of this proof to everyone else. A.J. two 13:12, July 28, 2010 (UTC)
Well said :D Now if we can just get more people to agree....hmm.....I'll be right back! WarClownWanna Talk? 13:17, July 28, 2010 (UTC)

Actually, I just watched the new Comic-Con video, and I noticed that, even though the only characters in the video were supposed to be those alreaady revealed, there was another character. It may be nothing, but I have three different pictures that show him, and I can put those pictures up if we do make a sandbox for this. A.J. two 13:22, July 28, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I'll just for D's final verdict before I make some invites to back up my idea. And as for the images you have AJ, just hold on to it for now. WarClownWanna Talk? 13:31, July 28, 2010 (UTC)
Will do. I actually had to retake them, because I took them while the video was playing. So I got better quality. But, I will wait until Cello decides. A.J. two 14:39, July 28, 2010 (UTC)
Green light. =] Have fun, children! XD -- D. Cello 16:08, July 28, 2010 (UTC)
Thank you mother. :) A.J. two 16:18, July 28, 2010 (UTC)

Hey Cello, where should the page be? Unlike the THCB theories, there is no page for the Multiplayers that we could use as a subpage. Should it just be a subpage of one of ours, or should it be like an official thing? I don't know what to do, and neither you nor War are around to give me an answer. But, I guess I will wait until one of you replies, because I don't wan to do anything and then have it deleted by an admin (Sima in particular seems to be the one who keeps deleting all of the "unconfirmed" pages). A.J. two 22:20, July 28, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I'm very happy in seeing all admins working at the same time, and kind of together (without conflicits between them).
Nice of you to wait =] Add {{main|AC: Brotherhood multiplayer characters}} on it, and then add it there. My idea is to make something similar to this. -- D. Cello 01:32, July 29, 2010 (UTC)
Okay, but what I was asking is where the page should be made. Should it be made as a subpage of one of our userpages (for example, [[User:A.J. two-War Clown/Multiplayer]]), or should it be made as an official page (just straight-forward, [[Unconfirmed Multiplayer Characters]])? Or, should it be smoething completely different? Because I don't know where to put it. A.J. two 01:58, July 29, 2010 (UTC)
The link that will be created when you add the main thing to BH's article is the link you should use ._. -- D. Cello 03:26, July 29, 2010 (UTC)
Okay done. A.J. two 04:12, July 29, 2010 (UTC)
I'm not one of those who hunt for the unseen, I'm more of an idea man. This idea was to keep things organized, and if it pulls through, then I'd be a happy man XD WarClownWanna Talk? 14:25, July 29, 2010 (UTC)
Well, if you want to go ahead and start, then the link is in the multiplayer characters section of the BH article. A.J. two 14:28, July 29, 2010 (UTC)
I'll bring some info when I find some. For now, It's back to work for me :D WarClownWanna Talk? 14:38, July 29, 2010 (UTC)

So, have you got anything yet War? Because the page has been made, but I don't really know what to add to it as far as the already confirmed characters, other then a link to their page.

Timeline Navigation Template

I tried asking, but no one could help me. How do I turn this into a official template (into something like this one)?
Never mind I did it, Thanks to Silver's help :D I'll be implementing them all to the Major Events once I get a good night's rest. Here it is by the way. --WarClownWanna Talk? 17:15, August 6, 2010 (UTC)
War, about your "promotion"... I've been checking what I could do to you, and what I expected is true: wiki powers can only be grant via groups i.e. you must be a admin to have delete powers, you must be a 'craut to make other people admin, you must be me to be awesome, etc. So I tought "Ah, what the hell. Why not?" and I'm gonna make you a.... probatory admin, we may say. I'll create a rank midway between Istruttori and admin, and when the wiki grows a little more and we need a new admin, I'll up you to full fledged Sysop status and other person takes your shoes as probatory sysop. =D
What ya think? -- D. Cello 17:37, August 6, 2010 (UTC)

Mechanical-Menace

Userboxes

I'm glad to see another wiki using the userboxes, it was a sad day when Halopedia shut them down. I was one of the most active in the creation of the userboxes, and I was curious if I was allowed to create my own for everyone to use. Basic ones like "This User hates Brutes" or something like that, and more customized, like "This User is saddened by the loss of Uncle Mario" and the such. If this is permitted, then I would just have to scavenge the old userbox code from Halopedia (might take some time, but I know it's still there) and find some good pictures to go with them.

Also, I was curious as to if it would be possible/allowed for us non-Admins to create our own, custom userboxes, and, maybe, just maybe, if they get popular enough they, the custom userbox, could get added to the userbox page?

We already have userboxes codes, and people already create custom using that code, so go ahead, create as many as you please. =]
And if one/some of the userboxes looks good enough and is releveant enough to reach a majority of users, we can add them to the sites official list, sure. Actually, those userboxes mady by War Clown on the right are on the process of being added to the Official gallery already. -- D. Cello 18:45, July 10, 2010 (UTC)
Alright, sounds good. I'll get to work when I can find some free time. Thank you. -- Mechanical-Menace 04:49, July 11, 2010 (UTC)

I create Userboxes all the time but i cleared them off cause it kinda went overboard :) Auditor(e) 22:11, July 24, 2010 (UTC)

Groups

As well as the above curiosity, I have another question. I was wondering if the Admins would like to implement a group system. Again, this is like what Halopedia had, but once again, shut it down. I already know about the Istruttori, which monitors Featured Articles and the like, but if we included some other groups, like for instance the Assassins and Templars. Assassins gain rank via fixing, creating, and expanding the Assassin pages, and the same for the Templars (except Templar pages). When Halopedia had this sort of thing going it brought many of the Users who like the same type of pages together, creating new friendships. Of course each group would need a "group admin" (for the Assassins maybe a "Master Assassin" and the Templars a "Grandmaster".). As well as each group having ranks that have something to do with the group (Assassins having "Initiate" for those that had just joined, or have not done much.), in which the User sends a request to a Group Admin asking for a promotion with a link to their contributions, and if said GA (Group Admin) agrees then the User is allowed to move their name to a rank above their previous one.

Also, each group should have an enforcer like User (Possibly "Judge" for the Templars), that goes through the lower ranked Users in their respective group and make sure they're following each groups' policies, and this special rank can only be given by the GAs, and only given to like one or two, max of three Users that have proven themselves worthy. Each enforcer, should they find enough evidence, bring this attention to both the GA(s) and the wiki Admins so that the suspected User gets reprimanded properly (Such as banning from the group, and or, banned from the wiki for a set amount of time).

Thank you very much for taking the time to look at these ideas of mine. The very menacing machine.

I think this whole enforcer thing and ban people from group is unecessary, and temp block from wiki is totaly not happening. People don't have any obligation here, nobody edits cause they have to, we do it cause we WANT to. Getting banned by not following an specific criteria by another user is unfair and subjective. About the groups, though, it is something that indeed we could do, we just need to figura a way of effectively implementing it.
Why those ideas were shutdown in Halopedia? -- D. Cello 18:39, July 10, 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, you make an interesting point, and to answer your question, they were shutdown because of the lack of activity as there was a lull in the new content. However, with a new game coming out, namely Reach, a lot of new content has been coming up, and several users, including Admins, are holding a vote to bring the groups back. This was just a suggestion, ultimately the power is up to the Admins, I just thought I'd ask since many users at Halopedia had a good time using the groups, just trying to spice things up a little. Thank you for your time. -- Mechanical-Menace 04:56, July 11, 2010 (UTC)
--
Personally I think it might be too hard to monitor all the users in these groups to see if they're following the group rules and personally I think almost every user is going to be in The Assassins group, also this is a Wiki about straightforward information. If you want to discuss things or roleplay the game in such a way you should head over to fan club forum or our very own community forum and post a topic about what you want to express.
Also, a lot of users registered here edit Assassin pages just as well as Templar pages, we're here to all help each other out with mistakes and grammar. We can't just leave a page with horrible grammar unfixed because it is information on the Templars.
The Thief 02:20, July 11, 2010 (UTC)
You make a very interesting point, thank you for the feedback. -- Mechanical-Menace 04:56, July 11, 2010 (UTC)
