Talk:Regular
Militia as regulars?
By definition militia are a type of irregular military force. Does any one source use the two phrases interchangeably or have two different sources called the same (or similar enough) archetypes contradicting terms? Lacrossedeamon (talk) 06:33, April 24, 2020 (UTC)
- I just double-checked the game guides. According to Brotherhood, regulars are any basic soldier, i.e. not brutes, agiles, seekers, horsemen, Papal guards, crossbowmen, or arqubusiers. Militia, sergeant, leader, and captain are actually different ranks of "regulars" but all are considered regulars. I actually never knew that. So I need to correct both the "Soldier" article and this one. On a side-note, I've always known that Ubisoft's usage of "militia" is kind of weird (unless the weakest of regulars really are some sort of non-professional civilian soldiers), but it is the name that they use.
