Seems to me that the Mario thing is more an obvious shout out than an easter egg. It's not even remotely hidden.

easter eggs don't have to be hidden there is one in gta 4 the ballad of gay tony, there is a referrence to vice city, the radio station is called vice city, and the music sounds similar to that of the game vice city MegaHyperNova 06:48, September 3, 2010 (UTC)

there is another easer egg. in deadliest warrior:the aftermath on aztec jaguar vs zande warrior, the weapon expert on aztec jaguar say that sometimes the obsidian knife was tying to one's wrist, like a assasin's creed blade. he even says like a old hidden blade
