GameStop TV[edit source]

Whilst I think it likely that Bell will be in-game (since when have Ubisoft ever not including a famous individual who was alive, and in the area, at the time), I'm certainly not convinced that "GameStop TV", whatever that is, can be considered a reliable source. I think that until something easily referable becomes available online, or in print, that confirms Bell's presence in-game, this article should probably be deleted. --Jasca Ducato (talk | contributions) 07:45, September 16, 2015 (UTC)

I'm a bit torn. I don't really see the need in deleting this page, since Syndicate comes out in about a month. At the same time, it's not like it'd be difficult to recreate this page if it was deleted, and "GameStop TV" is a bit of a weird source indeed. Maybe have Storm store it into his Sandbox until Graham Bell's presence in the game is confirmed? Crook The Constantine District 08:15, September 16, 2015 (UTC)
I figured someone would have an issue with this. I even told the store manager about our sourcing policy and he said "GameStop TV" would be fine, because that is what it's called. Every GameStop store has a monitor that is fed reviews, trailers and interviews exclusive to GameStop. Deleting it would be counter-productive and there's not really anything worth saving in a sandbox. No doubt GameStop will release the trailer on YouTube in a few weeks. The point of making the article now was to get it out there. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 09:03, September 16, 2015 (UTC)
Unfortunately, GameStop do not operate in the UK, so it is practically impossible (for me, at least) to verify the source. Personally, I maintain that the article should be deleted until such time that the GameStop trailer is released online (and even then, only if it is a Ubisoft-produced trailer), or his presence is confirmed in-game by another source; whichever comes first. At that point I’d be perfectly happy to see the article recreated. --Jasca Ducato (talk | contributions) 11:17, September 16, 2015 (UTC)

Additional Datamine Content[edit source]

I've been going through the text files for ACS, and I discovered there was a series of side missions planned for Aleck (similar for Ned Wynert?) for the Frye twins. At least, I think so, anyway. Because the text files are a mess, I'm having trouble understanding the exact context of the dialogue (like where it takes place in the game). A lot it of centers on Aleck's contributions to the deaf community (mentioning how his own mother is deaf) and a couple of his other inventions; his affection for Marie Eccleston, who finds him "priggish", and he seeks Evie's and Jacob's advice on how to court her; and his declining health, hinting at him developing tuberculosis, in which the Frye twins picked up on and encouraged him to move to Canada to recover, despite his protests. Aleck and the Frye twins talk about their families in a few lines.

As a funny aside, there's dialogue between Aleck and Evie that seems to be a bit of a running gag, where Evie insists on Aleck using the word "telephone", but he still finds it a rather bizarre name. I didn't want to put anything on Aleck's page until I have a clear understanding if the dialogue indicates a series of additional side missions or maybe alternate dialogue that was planned for the main story. I'm going through the audio files in hopes that I might find recordings to a better understanding, but I wanted to post this on his talk page to inform the wiki of what I found so far.--NinjaSheik 20:29, 26 June 2021 (UTC)

Hi NinjaSheik. I definitely don't recognize any of the details you noted in the first paragraph appearing in current ACS memories, so good on you for finding what seems to be a missing memory! As for the second section, I think that may be dialogue from the memory "Freedom of the Press"? Or is it a separate instance and it was intended to be a brief running gag between Evie and Alex throughout the game? – Darman (talk) 01:10, 27 June 2021 (UTC)
Oh, gosh, I didn't realize anyone responded to this. My apologies for not replying sooner. I can definitely say that I'm still working through the datamine files. RL and work has prevented from conducting a thorough search from both audio and text files, but I haven't given up. The text files I was using before was from another user, but I've recently been datamining the content of the game myself, and my copy of the official subtitles script is more coherent order (still slightly jumbled, though). As for the aforementioned dialogue, it's most certainly not part of the "Freedom of the Press" chapter in SQ3. From the context of the dialogue, I originally thought the convos might to be part of a series of side missions meant for Aleck sometime after the main storyline, but I'm starting to think these might be floating conversations like we've in previous AC games. I can extract parts of scripted event and paste it here, if that's okay? I don't wanna spam the article's page with a bunch of dialogue.--NinjaSheik 05:23, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
