New Game

Heres a question regarding the sails and a few other things. The sails and such you get from the elite ships you sink during events, if I start a new game do I keep them or do I lose them?

Also can I ask for a link to some page or some instructions on how to acquire some of these recruitable people? Some of them I know how to acquire, and many of the others no clue and just learning about them after they were listed.

Ok thats already known, its stated on the page and some of the characters pages on where you get them from. However, pages like Hektor, Pandaros, Roxana, and this Zetes the Retired for example don't list how to get them. I went through the quest that involves Roxana, and no option came up to recruit her. Someone said something about quests and dialogue, but nothing specific that helps me figure it out.
