Æthelflæd
|
Ezio, my friend! How may I be of service? This article has a lot of room for expansion. Please improve it with additional information in accordance with the Manual of Style |
Æthelflæd, Lady of the Mercians (c. 870 – 918) was Queen of Mercia from 911 until her death. She was the daughter of King Alfred of Wessex and Lady Ealhswith.
Biography
As a child, Æthelflæd was admired by the boy Esobert. Esobert decided to prove his love to Æthelflæd by climbing a tower to retrieve a flower. A flower which he later gifted (with assistance from the passing Eivor Varinsdottir) to the princess, her mother Ealhswith amusingly humored the boy at his claim to marry Æthelflæd.[1]
