A vampire

In folklore, a vampire is an undead humanoid creature that subsists by feeding on the blood of the living.[1]

History[edit | edit source]

During the 1870s, the British Assassins encountered a similar creature in London, where a Wallachian nobleman committed a series of gruesome murders while wearing the Ring of Blood. Though he managed to escape before the Assassins could confront him,[2] they followed the culprit to Transylvania. Near his castle, the vampire attacked his pursuers, but they managed to overpower and kill him. As he fell to the ground, the vampire's monstrous form faded to reveal a normal human with the Ring of Blood on his finger before the body dissolved into ash.[3]

In November 2015, a Helix Initiate modified their Animus while exploring the genetic memories of the twin British Assassins Jacob and Evie Frye to include a gear pack partially inspired by vampires in their armories.[4]

In 2016, during a meeting at Aleksandr Omovich's villa in London, Dr. Zixuan Long activated the Ring of Blood using his assistant, who underwent an illusory transformation into a vampire and, controlled by the Staff of Seth, carried out a massacre in the mansion. When local news interviewed the unhoused man Rob who had passed the manor at night, he said he witnessed "the devil" leave the villa and fly into the night.[5] At the British Museum, where the Ring of Sand was being shown, Dr. Long once again controlled his vampiric assistant, though this time the Assassins managed to stop her and take the ring for themselves, after which her vampire form faded.[6]

In 2020, the Assassin Layla Hassan modified her Animus while reliving the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories to include a weapon pack inspired by vampire legends.[7]
