The United States of America, or the United States, is a country in central North America.
Originally founded as the Thirteen Colonies of British America, what would become the United States was founded by British Empire as a part of its New World holdings, before becoming independent following the American Revolutionary War.
History
American Revolutionary War
During the 18th century, the thirteen colonies of Britain in the New World revolted against their British oppressors and raised an army, which would be referred to as the Continental Army. The revolutionaries assigned George Washington as its general, and in 1775 the American Revolutionary War began between the Continental Army andd British Army. In the shadows of the conflict, a secret war the Assassins and Templars waged on both sides of the Revolution. Connor Kenway, an Assassin originally hailing from the Mohawk tribe, allied himself with Washington, Benjamin Franklin and other leaders of the American revolutionaries to continue his own personal conflict with the Templars.[1]
In 1783, the Continental Army under George Washington,[1] who was aided by an Apple of Eden,[2] stood victorious over their British adversaries, and the Founding Fathers of the United States signed the Declaration of Independence, thus founding the United States.[1]
War for the Presidency
Throughout history, the Assassins and Templars waged a secret political war to gain control over the United States via its Presidency. In 1933, Franklin D. Roosevelt became the first known Templar to assume the Presidency, and in the process obtained the same Apple of Eden Washington wielded nearly two centuries before him.[2] Roosevelt co-founded Abstergo Industries alongside several other Templars in 1937,[3] and orchestrated World War II alongside fellow Templars Winston Churchill, Joseph Stalin and Adolf Hitler.[2]
In 1961, John F. Kennedy assumed the office of the American Presidency and did not share the Templars' and Abstergo's goals. When Kennedy planned a joint venture to the Moon - where an Apple of Eden was located - with the Soviet Union, the Templars planned Kennedy's assassination. On 22 November, Kennedy was shot by the Templar sleeper agent Lee Harvey Oswald whilst the President was driving through Dallas, Texas. Kennedy's driver and CIA agent William Greer, who was trained by Abstergo using another Apple of Eden, stole Kennedy's Apple in the confusion that ensued, and the Vice President and secret Templar Lyndon B. Johnson assumed the office.[2]
During the late 1990s, the Assassins and Templars were engaged in a solely-political war for the Presidency, with the Assassins supporting candidate Al Gore and the Templars using George W. Bush as their puppet. On 6 November 2000, the Templar sleeper agent Daniel Cross met with the Mentor of the Assassins, and subconsciously killed him. Daniel later returned to Abstergo Industries in Philadelphia where he was experimented on during his youth,[4] and was tortured into revealing the locations of the Assassin hideouts he had visited, allowing the Templars to initiate "the Great Purge" to eradicate these Assassin hideouts. With the Mentor dead and the Assassin in disarray,[5] the Templars were successful in placing George W. Bush in the Presidential office.[6] By 2010, the Templars still held influence over the Presidency.[7]
