The United States of America, or the United States, is a country in central North America.

Originally founded as the Thirteen Colonies of British America, what would become the United States was founded by British Empire as a part of its New World holdings, before becoming independent following the American Revolutionary War.

History

Presidency

George Washington served as the commander of the Continental Army in the American Revolutionary War from 1775 to 1783, during which time he was allied with the Assassin Connor, and was the first President of the United States from 1789 to 1797.[1]

By the end of the American Revolution, Washington had come into the possession of an Apple of Eden, which was passed on throughout the American Presidency from that point on.[1]

World War Era

During the World Wars, the Assassins' influence of America was overtaken by those of the Templars. Notably, in World War II, the Templars Winston Churchill and Franklin D. Roosevelt worked alongside their "enemy" Adolf Hitler to profit and spread Templar influence through arms deals and medical supplies that increased worldwide dependencies on Templar-controlled companies.

Assassinations

On 14 April 1865, John Wilkes Booth plotted and executed the murder of President Abraham Lincoln. His attack was successful, though his accomplices failed to take out the other two targets. Booth tried to escape, but he was eventually cornered and shot in the confusion. Unknown to all the others, Booth was actually killed by the Assassins, as his plans were a threat to the world.[2]

On November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas by Lee Harvey Oswald, a Templar agent. Kennedy was killed because he wanted to make a joint mission to the Moon – where an Apple of Eden, different to the one owned by the Presidency, was located – with the Russians.[2]

Philadelphia Project

In 1943, Abstergo Industries experimented with the possibilities of invisibility and time-travelling, resulting in the Philadelphia Project. Through the use of a Piece of Eden, they managed to send a ship to the future, where it stayed for approximately 18 minutes, before it returned to the normal timeline.[3]

The Great Purge

During the late 20th century, Daniel Cross lived in Philadelphia, where he lived a life of hallucinations, drugs and alcohol. After a heavy night of drinking, he tried to assassinate a man he thought was a Templar, but was taken away by Hannah Mueller before he could do any harm. She took him to an Assassin camp, where he met with Paul Bellamy, though he didn't stay long, as he needed to return to his apartment to search for his medication. When he and Hannah arrived, he realized he didn't have any medication left.[4]

Paul Bellamy also made his way to the apartment, having realized why Daniel Cross was having hallucinations, and told him of his great-grandfather, Nikolai Orelov. Triggered by his ancestor's name, Daniel had another hallucination, realizing he needed to meet The Mentor.[4]

When he finally met the Mentor, and was handed a Hidden Blade, the experiments Abstergo had enacted upon him from a young age began a neural impulse in his brain, urging him to assassinate the Mentor, which he complied to.[4]

From that event, Daniel travelled back to an Abstergo Industries laboratory in Philadelphia, where the Templars obtained all the information from him that they required to deal a major blow to the Assassins. After an attack made on a secretary, Daniel was then placed in the Animus to explore his ancestor's memories to his heart's content.[4]

Modern day

Ever since the World War era, the Assassins began losing influence on the American people, until finally, both the government and economy of the once Assassin influenced nation fell into the hands of the Templars.

DIA satellite accident

In the early 21st century, the DIA satellite accident took place at Denver International Airport. The precise nature and time of the accident remain unclear, but Abstergo lost one of their Pieces of Eden in the accident, which caused a delay for the launch of the Eye-Abstergo satellite as part of their Akashic Satellite Plexus.[3]

Also, in 2012, a team of Assassins was based in Denver.[5]
