Uda Matsuyama Castle
Uda Matsuyama Castle was a castle situated in Uda in Yamato, Japan.
History
In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke infiltrated the castle after being informed by one of Tsutsui Junkei's envoys that rogue Akiyama soldiers stole her invitation to the peace talks. Stealthily, they found the invitation within one of the residences and recovered it for Akiyama Ayako.[1]
While there, Naoe and Yasuke also discovered the conspirator within the Akiyama clan, assassinated him, and recovered a letter from The Messenger and a teppō Repeating Fate from his personal effects.[2] At some point, Yasuke discovered a kamon crest belonging to the Akiyama clan within the tenshu[3] and then he and Naoe climbed atop it and oversaw the province.[4]
Behind the scenes
Historically, the ruins of Uda Matsuyama Castle are now protected as a monument since 2006.[5]
