Tsuki-maru was a Japanese akita inu, previously owned by Ichiro before the latter's death. Around 1582, Tsuki-maru led Fujibayashi Naoe to finding the truth behind his owner's demise. After which he joined Naoe in her Hideout as a guard dog.[1]

Etymology

Tsuki-maru's name is made of two parts; tsuki (月) "moon" and maru (丸) "perfection, full circle" which is a common suffix for Japanese male names.
