The tripod on the column

The Tripod of Plataia was a tripod placed on a column beside the Apollo of Salamina in the Sanctuary of Delphi.

Made from the tithe of the Persian booty, it was dedicated to Apollo by 31 Greek cities that took part in the Battle of Plataea during the Greco-Persian Wars.[1]
