Trinity Church

Trinity Church is a historic church located in Lower Manhattan in New York. Trinity Church is at the intersection of Wall Street and Broadway.

History

This church was built with the help of famous pirate Willaim Kidd who provided equipment from his own ship to ensure this church was built. After completion he even has a pew reserved for him but he wound up never using it. It eventually burned down and construction of the new church began in 1788. The church wound up founding both the Trinity School, and King's College which was renamed to Columbia University.

It still stands today and was the largest building in the city in 1846 at the time it was completed. You can find this church at the corner of what is now Wall Street.
