Thomas de Carneillon

Thomas de Carneillon (1276 – 1323) was a banker and the Mentor of the French Assassins.

He became a legendary figure among the Assassins for his role during the destruction of the public face of the Templar Order in 1307. In that time, he attempted to steal Grand Master Jacques de Molay's Sword of Eden and book titled Codex Pater Intellectus, but was stopped in these efforts by a Templar Knight who hid these artifacts, and was subsequently killed by that same Assassin. Regardless, Thomas de Carneillon's efforts led to the eradication of the public "Knights Templar", and he spent a subsequent decade traveling through Europe in order to eradicate the remnant of the Templar Order.
