Thomas Knyvet, 1st Baron Knyvet (1545 – 1622) was an English courtier and Member of Parliament.

Knyvet was known for his participation in foiling the Gunpowder Plot, arresting Guy Fawkes and fouling his plan to destroy the Palace of Westminster. For this accomplishment, Knyvet was gifted a residence at 10 Downing Street by Queen Elizabeth.[1]
