Theatre of Pompey

The Theatre of Pompey was a theatre in ancient Rome built during the latter part of the Roman Republic. Built for the Roman general Pompey, it was the site of the Assassination of Julius Caesar in 44 BCE.
History
On 15 March 44 BCE, the Hidden Ones Aya, Brutus and Cassius, travelled to the theatre in an attempt to assassinate Julius Caesar for good. There, they discovered Caesar with Lucius Septimius across the arena. Aya tasked Brutus and Cassius to delay Caesar at the Senate before they proceed with the plan as she dealt with Septimius and his guards.[1]
Shorty after killing Septimius, Aya navigated through the garden complex, eventually reaching the senate, where she came upon Caesar giving a speech to the senate. Aya approached Caesar from behind, giving the stab before the other senators including Brutus followed, stabbing Caesar to death.[1][2]
Trivia
- The floor tiles of the Curia within the theatre are actually based on the floor tiles of Curia Julia which is entirely different building.
