The Polo Symbols, or Book Quests, were virtual representations of some of Ezio Auditore's genetic memories, relived by Desmond Miles in 2012 through the Animus.

Aqueduct

Perching on the southern end of Valens Aqueduct, Ezio uses his Eagle Sense to scan a Polo symbol further south, outside the entrance of a building. He finds the Iliad.

Arsenal

Ezio climbs the tallest mast of the ship in the western part of the Harbor of Theodosius. His sixth sense detects the book is on the dock just north of him, and he recovers The Book of Kings.

Church I

On the view point of the Gul Mosque's minaret, Ezio finds a book just beneath him on the roof of the main building. The book contains The Canterbury Tales.

Church II

A small, unmarked church due East (only a few buildings to the east) of the Romani HQ and due West (a fairly significant way West) of the Myrelaion Church. Ezio senses a book on the roof, and recovers The Flute Girl.

Forum of the Ox

On the column view point, Ezio scans a symbol between two columns to the east, and finds the Nibelungenlied.

Galata

Ezio climbs to the top of a minaret and detects the book on the wall connected to Galata Tower. Parachuting there, he digs up One Thousand and One Nights.

Hippodrome

Climbing the Obelisk of Theodosius, Ezio scans a symbol to the Hippodrome's southeast and digs up The Travels of Marco Polo.

Dialogue

After purchasing and finding all available books, once Ezio returns to the Galata headquarters, he is surprised to receive a visit from Sofia Sartor.

  • Sofia: Hello!
  • Ezio: Hmmm?
  • Sofia: Ezio, you old snake, you walked right past me.
  • Ezio: Forgive me Sofia, I did not notice. What are you doing in Galata?
  • Sofia: Making some deliveries. Is this where you stay?
  • Ezio: Ah, sì. (Yes). It is a kind of... school.
  • Sofia: What is taught here?
  • Ezio: Come this way. I want to show you something. [Takes her arm] I have been stocking the library with rare books. A good start, no?
  • Sofia: Ah, these are all so beautiful, and such diversity! So are these men and women your students?
  • Ezio: In a way, yes.
  • Sofia: Well, if they ever need a literary scholar, give them my name. In a pinch, I am a pretty good teacher.
  • Ezio: If they find the time to read, I certainly will.
  • Sofia: Oh, Chaucer! Belissimo (Beautiful).

Trivia

  • These memories are indicated on the map by a book symbol resembling the one for Book Shops, but with a black border.
  • If the armor of Ishak Pasha or Turkish Assassin Armor is equipped during the final cut scene, the mask will not be removed as it normally is.
  • You cannot replay the cut scene.
