Concept art of Stenwege Camp

Stenwege Camp was a Pictish camp in 9th century Eurvicscire.

History

In 876, the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan worked alongside Faravid and his men to attack Stenwege Camp. When inside, Eivor looked for the Pict chief. Seeing that there was an inner compound, Eivor tried to go inside, but it was locked. Looking around, Eivor noticed a guard carrying the key and took the key. Opening the door, Eivor made her way inside the inner compound and searched for the Pict chief. Eivor discovered the chief inside the center structure and began to fight him.[1]

After defeating the chief, the camp was taken over as Eivor brought the chief in front of Faravid. Before Eivor could start the interrogation, Faravid quickly gutted the chief as Eivor became outraged. Afterwards, Ulf and Faravid argued about the share from their conquest as Eivor deduced that the Picts are at Magnis Fortress. During the celebration, Ulf, Faravid, and Eivor drank to their accomplishment. Aftewards, Faravid left for Jorvik as Eivor had to meet Halfdan Ragnarsson.[1]

Through her travels, Eivor further investigated Stenwege Camp and found chests within the camp. Eivor collected a Tungsten ingot within the outer circle and the armor, Thegn's Bracers, within its inner compound. Eivor also combated with a Pictish warrior and retrieved another tungsten ingot from their personal effects.[2]
