Singapore, officially the Republic of Singapore, is an island country and city-state in Southeast Asia.

History

In March 1725, the Fenghuang captained by the Zhang Wei Union docked in Singapore following the events that took place in the Sultanate of Sulu. There, the crew took time to recover and replenish their much needed supplies, with Edward Kenway bedridden and tended to by a local doctor. Meanwhile, following the death of Xialun Qing in Sulu, Yun Pyeong-Gyu and John Young both strive to move on in their own ways: Yun focusing on his inventions while John drinking away in the bar. Elsewhere, Shimazu Saito and Mustafa took charge of repairing their ship and gathering supplies.

In 2023, after going rogue and escaping from Abstergo Industries, Shimazu Sei, Yuki, and Noa Kim were brought to Singapore by Nathan Zhang, where they holed up in a Zhawang Corporation safehouse in Chinatown. There, Sei set up a makeshift Animus HR-8 to relieve the memories of her ancestor Shimazu Saito, in the hopes of locating a Piece of Eden that could free Noa from the control of the crescent amulet he had found.

Behind the scenes

Singapore is a country and location that was first mentioned in Assassin's Creed III before making an official appearance in Webtoon's Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple. In Episode 93, which took place in 1725, the appearance of Singapore is anachronistic as it depicts Singapore with having European architecture and a port, which is not possible until a century later when it became a British colony. At this period of time, only a small settlement is confirmed to exist on the island.

In addition, Singapore would have been known as Singapura or Temasek before the adoption of the current name.
