Rings of Seth

The Rings of Seth are a set of three Rings of Eden said to have been bestowed by the Isu Seth to his champions. They are directly connected to the Staff of Seth, which is able to control those who use the rings.[1] All of the rings have some illusionary power, making it seem as if the wearer has been transformed into a type of monster: namely a mummy by the Ring of Sand,[2] a vampire by the Ring of Blood[3] and a werewolf by the Ring of Moon.[4] Besides this, the Ring of Sand specializes in illusions, while the Ring of Blood has mind-manipulating powers and the Ring of Moon gives heightened perceptions and the physical prowess.[5]
The Rings
Ring of Blood

The first records relating to the Ring of Blood mention that Vlad Tepes, the Voivode of Wallachia, had received a ring from a mysterious figure that bestowed upon him "otherworldly powers" to fight the Ottoman Empire.[6] In 1870's London the Assassins encountered a vampire while investigating a series of gruesome murders. They managed to uncover the culprit was a a Wallachian nobleman though he managed to escape before the Brotherhood could confront him.[7] Some members of the Brotherhood followed the culprit, journeying to Transylvania. Near his castle, the Assassins the vampire attacked his pursuers, but they managed to overpower him and kill him. As he fell to the ground, the monstrous visage of a vampire faded to reveal a normal human with the Ring of Blood on his finger before the body dissolved into ash.[3]
By 2016, the Ring of Blood was in Templar possession and had been transferred to Abstergo executive and high ranking Templar Aleksandr Omovich for safekeeping in the private vault in his villa alongside the Ring of Moon. Abstergo archaeologist Dr. Zixuan Long arranged for a meeting at the villa, under the pretext of showcasing the recently discovered Staff of Seth and its connections to the rings. During the meeting, Long was able to activate the Ring of Blood using his assistant, who underwent a transformation and, under the control of the Staff, carried out a massacre in the mansion.[1] After Dr. Long discovered that the Ring of Sand was being shown at the British Museum, he once again used the command his assistant, though this time the Assassins killed her before she could complete her mission, taking the Ring of Blood for themselves.[8]
Ring of Moon

In 1788, the Louisiana Brotherhood received reports of grisly murders happening in New Orleans, as well as tales of a predator terrorizing livestock.[9] Noticing that most of the victims had connections to illicit trades and tenuous links to suspected Templar Don Vicente Jose Nuñez, the Brotherhood decided to probe this lead further by infiltrating his residence. Their investigation did not take place, for as they arrived at their destination, they found the house engulfed in flames. The werewolf burst out of the house and onto the street from a window, before both it and the Assassins were chased out of the city by the soldiers. Reaching the Hopewell mound in the swamps, the group witnessed the werewolf transform back into a man as he died. Before they could retrieve the Ring of Moon from the body, a group of Templars led by Nuñez entered the cave. The Assassins managed to defend themselves and keep the Ring out of Templar hands, killing Nuñez during the struggle.[4]
By 2016, the Ring of Moon was in Templar possession and had been transferred to Abstergo executive and high ranking Templar Aleksandr Omovich for safekeeping in the private vault in his villa alongside the Ring of Blood. Abstergo archaeologist Dr. Zixuan Long, using the Staff of Seth, activated the Ring of Blood using his assistant, who underwent a transformation and, under the control of the Staff, carried out a massacre in the mansion, allowing Long to take the Ring of Moon.[1] Through their investigations, the Assassins eventually pieced together a trail leading them closer to the creature's lair,[10] an abandoned structure not far from the villa. While attempting to look for clues in the location, they were attacked by a seven feet tall werewolf. Though a formidable adversary, the creature was eventually beaten, reverting to a normal woman upon death, the Ring of Moon on her finger. The Assassins retrieved the ring and returned to their hideout.[11]
Ring of Sand

In 1923, laborers at the Tomb of Tutankhamun digsite uncovered a secondary tunnel leading to an new network of chambers and passageways. In one of the chambers, they located a solitary sarcophagus that housed the Ring of Sand. The Templars, led by Lord Carnarvon, swiftly mobilized to seize control of the site. When the Templars attempt an incursion to the chamber, they were attacked by a living mummy wielding a golden khopesh. The mummy controlled a veritable menagerie: skeletons armed with rusty weapons, colossal snakes, swarms of carnivorous scarabs, sand ghosts and zombie hyenas obeyed their command. After the mummy noticed a group of Assassins that had infiltrated the site, they too became targets, though managed to defeat the mummy. A grenade, thrown in panic by a Templar agent, then detonated near the corpse, triggering a chain reaction and causing the underground complex to begin to collapse. The Assassins managed to emerge from the tunnel just before it would've trapped them in.[2]
The ring and the sarcophagus that contained it became part of the Egyptian Museum's collection, where they were grouped with Tutankhamun's latest collection of relics. Though reportedly unearthed in a 1932 excavation, no records could be located regarding their provenance, making it plausible that the discovery was made in the 1920s. Also lacking in any records was information about the site where the sarcophagus came from.[12] In 2016, the ring, along with a few other items from the Tutankhamun collection, was loaned to the British Museum.[12] While on display in London, the ring was stolen by an Assassin cell, who had to kill a transformed woman who had been controlled into stealing it by Dr. Zixuan Long.[8]

The Assassins later took the three Rings of Set to the Isu vault beneath the Valley of the Kings, preparing to stop Dr. Long's schemes and prevent him from reaching Apophis. After their confrontation, Dr. Long's body had been taken over by the Isu Seth and he spoke to the Assassins, his voice transmitted through the rings.[5]
