This article is about the multiplayer character. For other uses, see Priest.
"Grown tired of listening to people's confessions, desperate to see the world in which mankind lives, the Priest made himself an angel of death. After spotting his target, he makes the lost sheep kneel before him and gives them salvation with his Holy Blade."
Ubisoft description.

The Priest (real name: Ristoro) was an Animi Avatar used by Abstergo Industries to train recruits in their Animi Training Program. He used a Holy Dagger as his weapon, which had a blade that was able to retract into the hilt.

Unique Moves

The Priest Avatar had several unique moves:

(Low Profile, Back)

The Priest walks up to his target from behind and removes his holy dagger, before lifting his weapon up high and driving it down into the base of his victim's neck, causing them to go limp as their nervous system is punctured, and fall to the ground, slowly dying.

(Low Profile, Front )

The Priest casually walks up to his target, before stealthily removing his holy dagger and bending forward, thrusting the blade of his weapon upward into his victim's abdomen, through their ribcage and puncturing their heart, killing them instantly.

(High Profile, Front)

The Priest runs up to his target and knees them forcefully in the stomach, winding them and causing them to bend forward as they try to regain air. He then removes his holy dagger and stabs downward, piercing the vertebrae at the base of the neck and sending his victim crumpling to the floor, heavily paralysed and bleeding out.

(High Profile, Back)

Similar to the Sacrificial Strike, the Priest knees the back of his target's legs, before removing his holy dagger one-handedly and stabbing it in between his victim's shoulder blades, piercing their nervous system and leaving them to die as they fall forward, paralysed.

(Bench Kill)

The Priest walks up to his seated target and grabs them by the back of their head, forcing it downwards so they are leaning forward, facing the floor. He then removes his holy dagger from its case with one hand, whilst holding his other hand up in the air in a gesture of benediction, before mercilessly stabbing them in between their shoulder blades, paralysing them and sending them slumping to the floor, where they would die later from exsanguination (blood loss).

(Aerial Kill)

The Priest leaps from above a rooftop, onto his target, before taking out his holy dagger. As he lands on the victim, he sinks the blade of his weapon into their upper back, before pulling his dagger out of his target's body and leaving them on the floor for dead.

The Priest Avatar could also be customized in different ways:

Trivia

  • While the Priest's picture shows him wielding a crucifix as a weapon, the Priest in-game actually uses a weapon similar to a gravity knife. This differs from the other characters, as their concept art shows them wielding their current weapons.
  • One of the Priest's unique executions, specifically the Low Profile, Back assassination, is reminiscent of human sacrificial rites throughout the ancient world, such as those of the Mayan and Aztecan cultures.
  • A similar move to the Sacrificial Strike is performed by Ezio Auditore if he attacks an unarmed enemy with a short blade.
  • The Priest wears the same clothes as the Master of the Sacred Palace, though they differ in color.
