Muspelheim Monoliths

The Muspelheim Monoliths were giant floating rocks of Múspellsheimr that surrounded all of Svartálfaheimr during Surtr's invasion. From historical findings, they were designed to transport Muspel warriors and anything of importance.[1]

History

In Eivor Varinsdottir's visions of Odin's time in Svartalfheim, the Æsir lord Havi saw many of these monoliths hovering around the realm. During his time in Svaladal, Havi assisted dwarven blacksmith Skavi to find his crow Kraka, who was last seen flying to the monolith above Skavi. Using his Hugr-Rip, Havi activated the Power of the Raven and flew to the monolith and encountered Muspel warriors with a Jötunn prisoner. After killing the warriors, Havi discovered that Kraka and the jötunn to be the same being as Kraka asked Havi to find the monolith's treasure for Skavi. When Havi agreed, Kraka transformed into a crow and flew away. Finding an ember of Muspelheim, Havi returned to Skavi and gave him the treasure as Kraka's last gift.[2]

Through his time in Svartalfheim, Havi used his Hugr-Rip to fly to the rest of the monoliths and acquire all nine of the embers. When he acquired all of the embers, he used them to upgrade his Hugr-Rip's abilities.[3]
