Tommaso "Maso" degli Albizzi (1347 – 1417) was an Italian nobleman and member of the Florentine House of Albizzi, a prominent banking family.

Biography

Maso's family came to power due to a power vacuum left in the wake of the Ciompi Revolt by 1382. Worried about the rise of the Medici family, headed by Cosimo de' Medici, Maso and his son Rinaldo had him exiled and imprisoned in 1433. Though the following year, Cosimo gained power and the exiled the whole Albizzi family but Maso's son Luca who was loyal to the Medici.[1][2]
