"James Kidd"

Mary Read (unknown – 1721) was an English pirate and member of the Assassin Order, trained by the Mentor Ah Tabai.

She posed as a male pirate under the name of James Kidd, an illegitimate son of the late William Kidd, and was one of the founding members of the pirate republic at Nassau.

Later in the game, Mary is imprisoned. In the court (Edward also in the court, because of Bartholemov Roberts) Mary Read, and Anne Bonne both say that they are pregnant. The judge delays their hanging, because of this.

Edward manages to escape imprisonment, with the help of Ah Tabi. They eventually get to Mary's and Anne's cell. Mary is in alot of pain because of being pregnant. Anne too. Anne and Ah Tabai get to a rowboat, and leave Edward Kenway to help Mary to the boat. Anne manages to get out alive with Ah Tabai and Edward Kenway. Mary on the other hand, isn't so lucky, and doesn't survive the childbirth, neither does the father.

It is revealed later on, by Anne, that a man that helped Mary and Anne plunder, was the father
