The Marble Trophy is a victory column located near the Marathon Beach in Attika, Greece.

Erected following the battle of Marathon in 490 BCE, the trophy featured the winged statue of Nike holding a wreath, looking out over the Euripos Strait. During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra visited the monument.[1]

Trivia

  • Though the victory column with this history exists, it seems that Ubisoft has split the story of it in two: the Greek traveler and geographer Pausanias tells the story of Phidias crafting a statue out of marble brought by Persians, but that it was the Statue of Nemesis he'd made, for the city of Rhamnous, the most important site for the worship of the deity in ancient Greece.
