Mae was an Anglo-Saxon girl in living England with her father during the 9th century.
Biography
During her travels in Ledecestrescire, Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir found a girl on a farm southwest of Alcestre Monastery starting at a mostly leafless tree. She investigated and learned the girl's father went away towards Lincoln in search of work. Her father told her he'd return before the tree had shed all its leaves. Six months passed since her father left and only one leave was still attached to the tree by the time Eivor encountered Mae. Eivor tried comforting the girl, causing the leaf to fall in an effort to make her move on.[1]
Some time after, Eivor found the dead body of her father with an arrow in the back beneath the bridge south of Lincoln. She found a letter next to the body addressed to Mae, stating he didn't found any work and did something he wasn't proud of, which required him to stay out of sight for a while.[2]
Behind the scenes
Eivor can pick up the leaf afterwards and place it on her nightstand.
