Later that night, the Hidden One Li E infiltrated the royal palace to assassinate Emperor Longwu. As the Emperor suffered grave wounds and called for the guards, Li Zhu'er stood alongside An Qingxu, Yan Zhuang and the Yeluohe soldiers outside the chamber, but none were permitted by the Yan Zhuang to enter, fearful of the incident taking palace within.[1]

After some time, Li Zhu'er firmly took up a dao and was the first to enter the chamber, followed by Yan Zhuang and An Qingxu, where they found the Emperor's mangled body.[1]
