Little is known about the Norns, for they were shrouded in mystery. Three of them were called Urðr (the Past), Verðandi (the Present) and Skuld (the Future). Legends said that they lived in the Well of Urdr, or the Well of Fate. This mysterious place could be found under one of the roots of the World Tree. This stunning concept art for Assassin's Creed: Valhalla shows the Norns represented as statues surrounding the entrance of the well.
