Laios was a King of Thebes and the father of Oedipous in Greek mythology.
According to the myth, Laios travelled to Delphi to consult the Pythia. Along the way, he was killed by his son, who had no idea of his identity. After his death, Laios was buried in a grave located northwest of the city of Orchomenos in Boeotia.[1]
During the Peloponnesian War, his tomb was visited by the Spartan misthios, Kassandra.[1]
