Concept art of Lackanscaul

Lackanscaul was a druid ritual site in 9th century southwestern Connacht, Ireland. Between 879 and 882, Lackanscaul was used by the cult known as the Children of Danu.

History

In the late 9th century, the Viking jarlskona Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan and Ciara ingen Medba were tracking a "púca" to find the Child of Danu, "The Cursed." From their investigation, Eivor and Ciara came across The Cursed's ritual and entered the ceremony. Upon their entrance, Eivor and Ciara fought with The Cursed and her acolytes. The Cursed was revealed to be a High Druid named Sétnae, who cursed Ciara for leaving the cult before succumbing to her wounds. From The Cursed's personal effects, Eivor received her amber shard and two more clues, which were about "The Oak" and "The Deer."[1]

Through her journey, Eivor found and claimed the Ceremonial Sickle within a treasure chest at the druid ritual site.[2]
