Lisa Yang (born 2001) is a teenager born from Chinese parents who live in Yokohama, Japan.
Biography
Lisa was repeatedly expelled from schools due to fighting with her teachers as a result of her inability to fully control her violent impulses, and in 2019 was eventually sent to receive therapy. As part of her treatment in a Yokohama Abstergo clinic, Dr. Kaori Kagami had the teenager relive the memories of her ancestor, the Assassin Shao Jun through an Animus.[1]
Unfortunately for Yang, Dr. Kagami wasn't really interested about improving her mental health but was rather occupied with finding the location of Jun's "treasure". Yang desycnhronized from her first Animus session after Shao Jun performed a Leap of Faith, unsettled by how real the simulation was, Dr. Kagami explained that it wasn't real and nothing would harm her as they were only memories. Ending the therapy, Yang leaves and calls her mother informing her that the therapy helped and she would continue.[1]
During Yang's second Animus session with Dr. Kagami, she relives a young Jun witnessing a rebel eunuch publicly tortured and desychronizes in horror. When asked by her doctor to stop for the day, Yang insists in continuing her treatment. Through further simulated memories, Yang learns of the Assassins and Templars and their ongoing struggle. After being brought out of the Animus, Yang asks Dr. Kagami about the two factions. Dr. Kagami tells her patient that the Assassins sought chaos while the Templars fought for peace and order.[2]
Dr. Kagami tells Yang that she is an ancestor of the Assassin Shao Jun and that her genes were the reason for Yang's violent behavior. When Yangs asks if the Animus treatment will definitely help her, Dr. Kagami insists to her that she is on her side as long as they work together. Accepting this answer, Yang enters the Animus again.[2]
