Kashiwara Village

Kashiwara Village was a village in southern Hijiyama in Iga, Japan.

History

In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki member and samurai Yasuke visited the village after receiving a message of a rōnin helping the people of Iga. There, Yasuke investigated and met with the rōnin, who initially felt conflicted of his presence. When Yasuke explained his stance and current circumstances, he joined the rōnin against the daimyō Nakatomi's men attacking the people. After defeating them all, they came across an argument between a woman and a man who stole a bag of rice from Nakatomi. Hearing the conversation, Yasuke helped decide how to solve the conversation and let them leave.[1]

Together, the rōnin introduced himself as Ibuki and explained his history working for Nakatomi and how he disobeyed her orders led him to be exiled by fellow soldier Kyobei. When Ibuki asked Yasuke to help end Nakatomi's rule, Yasuke agreed to help them and meet them later on the outskirts of Hijiyama Fort.[1] At some point, Yasuke and fellow Kakushiba ikki member Fujibayashi Naoe established a kakurega while visiting the village.[2]
