Hop Wo Society

The Hop Wo Society was a "trade union" that worked out of the Great World in Shanghai, China during the 20th century. However, it was a front for the Chinese gang organization, the Green Gang, which was led by Du Yuesheng at the time.

History

In April 1927, the organization, under Du's orders, sent French concession officers, Henri Melville and his partner, to kill a Templar associate and intercept Darius Gift. However, their plans were thwarted by the Black Cross Albert Bolden, who investigated the matter. Realizing the Black Cross' presence, the society staged a trap for the Black Cross at one of their offices. Although it worked, the Black Cross managed to retaliate and kill some gang members before being captured by Fiery Crow.
