The Harbiyah bureau

The Haribyah bureau was a Hidden One bureau situated in Shari' region of the Harbiyah district of Baghdad. In the 860s, it was headed by Hidden Ones Master Assassin and Rafiq Fuladh Al Haami.[1]

History

After Caliph Al-Mutawakkil's murder,[2] the Alamut Hidden Ones installed multiple bureaus to fight and stomp out the Order of the Ancients' influence across the city. Together, Fuladh and Master Assassin Roshan founded the bureau and traveled with their initiate Basim Ibn Ishaq there. When the three Hidden Ones discussed the leads their comrade Nur found before, Basim was tasked to investigate.[3]

From his investigation at a dyeing factory[4] and his discovery of a name, Al-Ghul, being in charge of enslaved workers and prisoners[5] Basim returned to the bureau and met with its new engineer, Abu Jafar Muhammad ibn Musa, and then spoke with Fuladh and Roshan. They learned of a deal between Ali ibn Muhammad with his freedom fighters and Nur for aid against the caliphate. However, Fuladh instructed Basim to meet him at Damascus Gate Prison to rescue Ali while Roshan met with the rebels at their base to find out more about their deal.[6]

Before leaving, Basim talked with Abu Jafar again about both the contract board and the tool enhancement he can provide him.[6] After Basim rescued Ali from prison[7] and learned of Al-Ghul's identity to be soap mill owner Mas'ood Al-Ya'qoob[8] he met with Roshan at a caravanserai where Mas'ood was conducting business. There, Basim located and assassinated him.[9]

Afterwards, Basim returned back to the bureau and gifted the bloodied feather to Fuladh. All three later discussed how more bureaus are being set up and led by fellow Hidden Ones Rebekah and Tabid in western Karkh and Abbasiyah, respectively, while Fuladh will oversee a bureau in Sharqiyah. While Roshan and Fuladh left, Basim met with Abu Jafar and talked about more devices before he left to meet his fellow Hidden Ones.[1]
