Gyda was a Norse woman who lived in Lunden during the 9th century. She had a daughter named Regna and was a friend of Erke, one of the city's reeves.
Biography
In 873, Gyda's daughter Regna ran errands for Oija, a blacksmith who secretly assisted the nun and Order of the Ancients member Frideswid in her experimentations on human body. As she had no information of the blacksmith's name and whereabouts, Gyda soon grew worry of her daughter's work and feared for her safety after a series of bodies began to appear on the city docks.[1]
At some point, after not seeing Regna for two days, Gyda rushed to the docks after hearing of another body with the same circumstances appearing at the docks. There, Gyda met Erke and Eivor of the Raven Clan, who assured her that the body was not Regna's. She then went on to inform them of Regna wandering under the Lunden bridge before her disappearance.[1]
