George Monro (1700 – 3 November 1757) was a Colonel in the British Army during the Seven Years' War, and a member of the Colonial Rite of the Templar Order.

He was one of the men who rescued Shay Cormac after he had left the Assassin Brotherhood and been taken to the home of Barry and Cassidy Finnegan. After Shay managed to oust an Assassin-allied gang from their headquarters in New York City, Monro recognized Shay's promise in the Order and was convinced he would excel above all others, so much so that he even told the Grand Master Haytham Kenway such.

In 1757, Monro was assigned to work in Fort William Henry. A French-native alliance threatened the security of the fort. During the Siege of Fort William Henry, Monro was forced to surrender due to lack of reinforcements. However the natives did not honor the surrender and ambushed Monro and the remaining British troops. Monro was able to escape due to the help of Shay. Monro would later be killed by Liam O'Brian.
