The Gates of Baghdad were the gates connected by walls which protected the city of Baghdad and the inner Madinat As-Salam, many of which were built during the Abbasid Caliphate. While the Round City originally had four gates leading into the outer districts and directed towards Kufa, Damascus, Khorasan, and Basra, they were eventually destroyed and replaced by a number of other entryways.
