Gaspar Martinez was a Spanish Inquisitor officer living in Barcelona during the Renaissance.

Biography

Fight with the Assassins and death

Tomas Torquemada, the Inquisitor General, tasked him with capturing six Assassins, which he successfully did. He had one of the guards kill the first Assassin, after the latter was interrogated by Torquemada. Right after, he left the scene and became unguarded: an easy prey for Ezio Auditore, an Italian Assassin who had come to Spain to rescue his fellow Assassins. Ezio questioned Gaspar about what he knew of the Templars, though Gaspar claimed to know nothing, saying that they "went away two centuries ago". Ezio then silently killed Gaspard, and found out the latter had a list that featured the names of six other Assassins that needed to be captured.

Ezio: I hope we can speak without interruption, Gaspar. Who gave you the names of the imprisoned Assassins?

Gaspar: What do you mean "Assassins"? Our dungeons are for heretics, not medieval phantoms!

Gaspar: Whoever those men claim to be, it won't matter after today. A public burning is about to commence for one of them. A willful young man.

Ezio: If he dies, I will keep that fire burning until this town is a cinder. (Ezio stabs Gaspar with the Hidden Blade, killing him)
