Forward Camp, River Dee

Forward Camp' was an Anglo-Saxon military camp build along the River Dee in the southwestern part of the region, southwest of Farnham. It was was protected by a sizeable military force.

In the 9th century, it was raided multiple times by the Vikings Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan, Vagn, and her longship crew. During one of these raids, she collected a valuable book containing knowledge of a new combat skill.^[1]
